American Fusion Belly Dance Showcase: Sage Restaurant
I had the pleasure of attending my first American Fusion Belly Dance Showcase (AFBDS) Saturday, February 26th.
The showcase was held at Sage Restaurant in Whittier, CA. and featured 12 dancers of varying genres. There is no cover charge for the show, except a one drink and one appetizer minimum per person, and the dancers dance for tips.
The quality of the performance was excellent and I applaud the efforts of Lydia, Yeril and Marty (the founders of AFBDS) for organizing such a quality event!

After Graciela’s performance there was an intermission, where dancers gathered near the stage and enjoyed moving to the rhythm of the drum beat provided by Leo, Mike and friends.

The dancers love for what they do was infectious and at the end of the evening, I left the performance with a smile on my face and a desire to catch their next performance at Sage, which by the way will be Saturday, April 23rd.
